22-235 Presence

Today’s Mandala
Presence

“As we let our light shine,
we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence actually liberates others.”

— Marianne Williamson

“We convince by our presence.”

— Walt Whitman

“Your presence
is the most precious gift
you can give
to another human being.”

— Marshall B. Rosenberg

Today’s MotD reminds us that our presence here on this planet at this time is vital. Each of us contributes to the enlightenment of each and every one of us in some way, big, small, or in between. We came here to evolve and in the process help others do the same.

Our challenge becomes answering this question: in what way do I want to make my presence known? Let go of there being a right or wrong answer. The best answer is the one that’s true for each of us individually. Whatever fears or limitations are holding us back from announcing our true presence, it’s time to thank them for their service and let them go.

Since it’s one of my favorite quotes and definitely apropos for today’s MotD, I share it with you yet again:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

— Marianne Williamson, “A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of ‘A Course in Miracles’”
