Today’s Mandala
Dawn
“Hope begins in the dark,
— Anne Lamott
the stubborn hope
that if you just show up
and try to do the right thing,
the dawn will come.
You wait and watch and work:
you don’t give up.”
“Not knowing
— Emily Dickinson
when the dawn will come
I open every door.”
“Be patient where you sit in the dark.
— Rumi
The dawn is coming.”
Today’s MotD reminds us that often times when things seems the darkest, when we’ve done all that we can do to move forward and nothing seems to be happening, that is when we most require patience. Be still and know that much happens behind the scenes, beyond our awareness.
Our challenge becomes being present in these pre-dawn moments, to embrace them and whatever message they have for us. It could be that rushing into or away from something will only delay us or misguide us in a different direction. Most likely the best thing we can do is to be still.
Be still.
— Leo Babauta
Just for a moment.
Listen to the world around you.
Feel your breath
coming in and going out.
Listen to your thoughts.
See the details
of your surroundings.
Be at peace
with being still.
Blessings,
Maureen
