Continuing with Principle #3 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Decide what you want”, I set the intention today to look at my personal life. As part of his visualization exercise associated with this principle, Canfield invites us to visualize the answers to some of these (paraphrased) questions:
- “going back to school? getting training? attending workshops?
- what about therapy? meditation? spiritual retreats?
- play an instrument? write an autobiography?
- travel to other countries? ”
Right from the start of coloring, I let the Spirit move me and I kept hearing (in my head): who says you have to color INSIDE the lines? Then I just went for it. The black ring towards the middle feels like a point of interest to explore…it feels like a block; as if my Inner Light wants to express itself, but is unable to see beyond to all the potential beyond the block. I enjoyed just zipping the colors around the mandala…so much so that it made my heart sing which is why I finished this off by “shadowing” the hearts to bring them up to the surface. (my FB and IG account will have a time-lapse video of my coloring).
The main message I’m sensing here: I give myself permission to color outside the lines.
So how about you? Where in your life are you holding back, stopping yourself from coloring outside the lines?
“Live life to the fullest.— Albert Einstein
You have to color outside the lines
once in a while
if you want to make your life
Laugh some every day,
keep growing, keep dreaming,
keep following your heart.
The important thing is
not to stop questioning.”
I invite you to color along with me this year as part of what I’m calling “The Year of Self-Exploration and Expansion” with all of my “Mandalas of the ___” (day, week, month, year). If you’re interested in more of a self-exploration approach to coloring, check out my “Coloring Mandalas as Meditation”. You can download this mandala to color at MandalaoftheWeek.com.
