Today’s Mandala Message: Dare to try something new.
This week we look at Principle #12 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Act As If. For today’s MotD I set my intention to ponder trying new things as part of acting as if it doesn’t matter how it turns out.
Today I tried something new. While I’ve painted digital mandalas before (two of them this week alone), today I did this mandala on my iphone with a 2.5”x4” screen. None of my styluses worked so I had to use the tip of my index finger to do all the coloring. It was quite challenging to work this small. Yes, I could zoom in but it still required some extra precision.
In the end, I like how it turned out. It also lets me know that if I’m ever stuck somewhere away from all my art supplies and all I have is my phone…I can still create. In other words, act as if I’m an artist regardless of the tools I use.
So how about you? What’s something new you could try that looks like your acting as if it doesn’t matter how it turns out? Can you do something just for the sake of doing it…out of curiosity?
“We keep moving forward,— Walt Disney
opening new doors,
and doing new things,
because we’re curious
and curiosity keeps leading us
down new paths.”

I invite you to color along with me this year as part of what I’m calling “The Year of Self-Exploration and Expansion” with all of my “Mandalas of the ___” (day, week, month, year). If you’re interested in more of a self-exploration approach to coloring, check out my “Coloring Mandalas as Meditation”. You can download this mandala at MandalaoftheWeek.com.
