23-076 Act As If #6

Today’s Mandala Message: Make five years from now happen now.

This week we look at Principle #12 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Act As If. For today’s MotD I set my intention to ponder where I see myself being and doing five years from now.

At first I saw myself being and doing what I’ve imagined myself being and doing. Then I remembered the “Ten Percent Happier” podcast by Dan Harris (dated 3/13) I heard on my day-trip to Portland (OR) yesterday. His guest was Carla Naumburg, PhD. She talked about a walking meditation she does where she focuses on her abbreviated version of a Loving Kindness Meditation: happy, healthy, safe, at ease.

Remembering her meditation, I realized…that’s where I see myself in five years (slightly edited version): happy, healthy, secure, and at ease with myself and my world. With that, it doesn’t matter what I’m doing, being, or having as long as I strive for those states of being I will have succeeded.

So my challenge now (with this principle) is to act as if I am happy, healthy, secure, and at ease with myself and my world.

So how about you? Where do you see yourself in five years? Do you know anything specific? Or is it more about how you want to feel in five years? Can you start acting as if now?

“May I be loved.
 May I be happy.
May I be strong.
May I use my gifts
to make the world better.
May I be free from suffering.”
