Today’s Mandala Message: Why are You Waiting?
Continuing with Principle #13 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Take Action, I set my intention today to ponder “do it now” … the opposite of procrastination. I have a couple of ideas (more than a couple, actually) that I put on my project list. Part of me is as eager as a child on Christmas morning to dive into them and another part is like an old wild west sheriff saying “whoa, hold on thar’ partner!”
Up until now I tended to let the sheriff hold the reins on what I do or don’t do. I know it’s trying to keep me safe and comfortable; and that anything outside of those boundaries is “dangerous”. Over the last few weeks, though I have become more aware of how I get in the way of myself even though deep within I know I want to grow and expand all that I am and all that I do.
For instance, two particular projects I’ve been procrastinating on would put me out there in a bigger way and yet I back off for many reasons that all seem to boil down to: I am not enough, what I have to offer is of no value. Intellectually I know that’s not true, yet I let the sheriff block me internally.
One project is to create a channeled storytelling podcast and/or video series. The other is making five oracles decks out of the 365 mandalas of the day from 2022. In both cases my inner Sheriff says things like: lots of people have done or are already doing that; what makes you think people want that, and do you even know what you’re doing?
Tomorrow starts week 13 of the Mandala of the Week and covers principles #14 and #15, which combined basically tell us to acknowledge the fear and more forward anyway. The timing of these principles works well with where I am with today’s MotD. So this week, I’m going to record and upload my first channeled story and take the first steps towards making my oracle decks a reality.
So how about you? What do you keep putting off? Why do you do it? Can you take one step towards it today?
“Know the true value of time;
— Philip Stanhope
snatch, seize, and
enjoy every moment of it.
No idleness, no laziness,
no procrastination:
never put off till tomorrow
what you can do today.”
