23-099 Just Ask #1

Today’s Mandala Message: Be Specific With Your Ask

This week I’m working through Principles #17 and #18 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Ask! Ask! Ask!” and “Reject Rejection” respectively. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of being specific about what I’m wanting or needing. Canfield states: “Vague requests produce vague results. Your requests need to be specific.” For instance, when it comes to money, specify the amount. When it comes to when you need something done, specify the date and time. When it comes to tasks that need to be done, specify exactly what needs to be done and maybe even how.

Without being specific we leave things open to interpretation and assumptions…which turn into disappointments and frustration. It’s like that old joke about the person who wished for a million bucks and wound up with a yard full of a million deer. Hence the warning, be careful what you ask for.

So how about you? Do you find it easy or difficult to ask for what you want? Do you know what you want? How specific are you in your asking?

“Take the risk to ask
for whatever you need and want.
If someone says no,
you will not lose anything.
If someone says yes,
you have a lot to gain.”
