23-123 The Rule of Five #4

Today’s Mandala Message: Give Something Above and Beyond

This week I’m working through Principles #23 and #24 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Practice the Rule of Five” and “Exceed Expectations”, respectively. I set my intention today to ponder the idea give something extra, above and beyond. Canfield states: “if you want to really excel at what you do…do more than is required, always giving something extra, something that is not expected. A business that goes the extra mile earns the respect, loyalty, and referrals of its customers.”

This principle is pretty straightforward. The challenge becomes determining how much extra…is it too much or is it not enough? I know I appreciate it when I receive an online order and they add a little something extra like a hand-written note, a small trinket, or even coupon for my next order. In turn I like to add a “color-your-own” mandala greeting card to someone’s order as a thank you from me to them.

So how about you? Is there something extra you can do with what you offer? How does it make you feel when someone gives you something above and beyond to your order or service they offer? Can you do something similar?

“What ever you do,
do it well.
Do it so well
that when people see you do it
they will want to come back
and see you do it again
and they will want to bring others
and show them how well you do
what you do.”
