Today’s Mandala Message: Strive To Do Better
This week I’m working through Principles #23 and #24 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Practice the Rule of Five” and “Exceed Expectations”, respectively. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of striving to do better. That with each time I do something, I aim to do it better than the time before.
Today’s message is a little bit different than Canfield’s two principles. It’s actually a different perspective on “exceed expectations”. When I practice piano every day, I strive to play better than I did yesterday. It could be that all I improve upon today is just two measures of a piece I’m currently learning. I’m striving to get the fingering better, transitioning from one note to the next more smoothly, and hopefully getting it more up to speed.
With today’s coloring, I was working on my lines, curved and straight. I can see that I’m getting better at my straight lines and yet there’s still room for improvement. I’ve come to learn that it’s more important to me to strive to improve rather than strive for something as unachievable as perfection.
If you happen to be on Instagram @themandalalady … go to this post…I include a couple of time-lapsed videos showing my progress while coloring this mandala.
So how about you? Is there something you do that you can improve upon? Can you strive to do better the next time? Can you let go of trying to get things perfect?
