Today’s Mandala Message: Surround Yourself With Positive, Nurturing, Uplifting People

This week I’m working through Principle #25 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Drop Out of the ‘Ain’t It Awful’ Club…And Surround Yourself With Successful People”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of surrounding myself with positive, nurturing, and supportive people. Canfield states: “Make a conscious effort to surround yourself with positive, nourishing, and uplifting people—people who believe in you, encourage you to go after your dreams, and applaud your victories. Surround yourself with possibility thinkers, idealist, and visionaries.

Up until now, I have mostly surrounded myself with “comfortable” people…people who are okay with staying in their comfort zone and who are okay with _ME_ staying in mine. Mainly, I think, because we have this false notion that it’s safer. The reality is, it just keeps me/us dissatisfied. I need to be in an environment where I’m encouraged to spread my wings. I’m going to make it my mission to find such people.

At the same time, I want to explore whether I, in return, am positive, nurturing, and uplifting of others. It is after all a two-way street.

A good mindfulness practice would be to keep asking: is this positive, nurturing, and uplifting?

So how about you? Who are the people you surround yourself with? Are they positive, nurturing, and/or uplifting? Are you positive, nurturing, and uplifting of others?

“Be strong,
be fearless,
be beautiful.
And believe
that anything is possible
when you have the right people
there to support you.”
