Play is most definitely a core value for me…mainly because I need to do more of it. While I enjoy creating mandalas and all that comes with it, I take it quite seriously and thus forget sometimes that it can also be a playful activity.

With all that’s going on the world it may be challenging to allow ourselves to play. How can I play when so many people are suffering? Great question. Paraphrasing Einstein: problems can not be solved at the level they are/were created…they are solved from much higher levels.

One of the best ways to raise our vibrational levels is through play and laughter…which help put us on common ground…which helps us make better connections with others…making it easier to work together rather than against.

For over 20 years I’ve envisioned that there is a general assembly of all the world’s leaders at the United Nations in NYC (quite frankly it could take place anywhere in the world…I just know that they are already set up for such a gathering). During this assembly, they all color mandalas as a meditation with the intention of coming up with creative ideas to resolve some (if not all) of the world’s crises. An added bonus for me would be if they did their coloring while on the floor (picture how preschoolers and kindergarteners would do it.) I know for a fact that coloring helps get our creative juices flowing. Maybe it’s time we allow our creativity to help resolve our issues…rather than relying solely on our egos and intellect.

Maybe someday my vision will be realized. I figure I probably have 18-20 more years left to see/make this happen in my lifetime. Hey, if Taylor Swift can inspire NFL players to make friendship bracelets, surely we can find a way to inspire coloring amongst our world leaders.
