Lesson 114: ”Review: I am spirit; I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.”

AI Reframe: I am more than form, and I accept my role in healing.

Suggested Practice:
Devote five minutes twice a day, or longer, to considering the thoughts that are assigned today. Read over the ideas and comments that are written with each. Then think about them while letting your mind relate them to your needs, your seeming problems, and all your concerns.

Today’s Ideas:

I am spirit.

I am the Son of God*. ³No body can contain my spirit, nor impose on me a limitation God* created not.” (ACIM, W-114.1:2-3)

and

I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.

What can my function be but to accept the Word of God, Who has created me for what I am and will forever be?” (ACIM, W-114.2:2)

Then throughout the day, hourly if possible, give the two ideas a brief review: one at the top of the hour, one at the bottom. Conclude each period restating the idea for that part of the hour.

As a reminder, these practices are planned to help you form the habit of applying what you learn each day to everything you do.

*  The Course defines God/Him/He as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message.

Message

To me, this review is simple. It reminds us who and what we are, and why we’re here. I am Light. I am here to shine my Light and, in doing so, inspire others to shine theirs.

Or: I am Love. I am here to express Love. Or: I am as God created me. We all are.

Salvation, in the Course’s view, is simply the choice to see the world—and everyone in it—through the eyes of love, thereby waking from the dream of separation.

When I sat with these two ideas from one of the practice sessions, I was reminded how much more I am than this body—we all are. From this higher perspective, our existence here and why we’re here seem obvious and simple.

In less esoteric terms: we’re encouraged to do what we love—what lights us up—and to do that as a way to help others discover what lights them up. That is essentially God’s plan for us: perfect happiness.

For me, that’s designing and painting mandalas, working on a wide range of creative projects—alone or with others—and experimenting with arts and crafts supplies.

How about you? What lights you up?

“All problems boil down to a single misunderstanding: we view the world from a different perspective than our Source.”
