Lesson 115: ”Review: Salvation is my only function here; My part is essential to God’s plan for salvation.”
AI Reframe: Remembering truth is my purpose, and my presence matters.
Suggested Practice:
Devote five minutes twice a day, or longer, to considering the thoughts that are assigned today. Read over the ideas and comments that are written with each. Then think about them while letting your mind relate them to your needs, your seeming problems, and all your concerns.
Today’s Ideas:
Salvation* is my only function here.
“My function here is to forgive the world for all the errors I have made. For thus am I released from them with all the world.” (ACIM, W-115.1:2-3)
and
My part is essential to God’s** plan for salvation.
“I am essential to the plan of God for the salvation of the world. For He gave me His plan that I might save the world.” (ACIM, W-115.2:2-3)
Then throughout the day, hourly if possible, give the two ideas a brief review: one at the top of the hour, one at the bottom. Conclude each period restating the idea for that part of the hour.
As a reminder, these practices are planned to help you form the habit of applying what you learn each day to everything you do.
* Salvation is simply the choice to let go of guilt and see the world—and everyone in it—through the eyes of love, thereby waking up from the dream of separation.

I admit I’m hung up on the comment for Lesson 99: “My function here is to forgive the world for all the errors I have made.” Wait, what? Shouldn’t it be “…forgive the world for all the errors they have made?”
I used ChatGPT to help me workshop that sentence. I realized that if the Course had worded it slightly differently, it would have made more sense to me—something like:
“My function here is to forgive the world as I perceive it for the errors in my perception.”
Remember the early lessons about how we give everything its meaning? A chair has all the meaning I give it. The lamp, the computer, and the bookcase too. That meaning has nothing to do with the object itself—it’s based on how I interpret it through past experience.
That’s what’s at play here. The world is what it is. Yes, there are wars, corruption, and harm. But there are also acts of courage, kindness, and creativity. All of these things are neutral. How we perceive them—that’s where meaning comes from, and that meaning can affect our peace and well-being. Today’s lesson asks us to notice: Are we perceiving in fear or in light?
Think of it this way. Lesson 99 is about cleaning a dirty lens. Lesson 100 is about seeing the light more clearly through that lens. That reminds me of what Fred Rogers tells children after a tragedy: look for the helpers. Fear looks at suffering and despair. Love and light look for the helpers, look for the light. We’re not ignoring what happened—we’re looking for where love and light are active.
ChatGPT put it this way: “It’s a bit like standing in a storm and realizing there are still lanterns lit across the landscape. The storm is real. But so is the light.”
What brought it together for me—an aha moment—is this:
Lesson 99: Clear the distorted lens — that’s my only function.
Lesson 100: See the light that was always there — that’s my part in God’s plan.
