Lesson 151: ”All things are echoes of the Voice for God.”

AI Reframe: Everything reflects the harmony of Source.

Suggested Practice:
Spend fifteen minutes in the morning, and another fifteen more before you go to sleep. Start each session with today’s idea:

All things are echoes of the Voice of God*.

Then, be still. And, whatever thoughts come up, turn them over to God and await Their higher-vibrational translation to return to you in its purified form.

As stated from the Lesson:

Give Him your thoughts, and He will give them back as miracles which joyously proclaim the wholeness and the happiness God wills His Son**, as proof of His eternal Love. ²And as each thought is thus transformed, it takes on healing power from the Mind which saw the truth in it, and failed to be deceived by what was falsely added. ³All the threads of fantasy are gone. ⁴And what remains is unified into a perfect Thought that offers its perfection everywhere.” (ACIM, W-151.14:1-4)

Throughout the day, every hour, remember and give thanks to the Source of our salvation and deliverance.

*The Course defines “God/Him” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message. The Will of God is our happiness.

**Collectively, we are “His Son”—a term used to emphasize our shared humanity and our equal role in seeing the world, and everyone in it, through the eyes of love, thereby waking up from the dream of separation.

Message

Essentially, today’s lesson is a holy version of Google Translate. But instead of Google doing the translating, it comes from a Higher Source. And instead of seeking a French translation of an English sentence, we’re seeking the Divine truth translation of our ego’s thoughts.

This lesson is three pages long and worth reading for its rich, prose-like wisdom, but that would be too much to include here. So here are some key statements I want to share:

”No one can judge on partial evidence. That is not judgment. It is merely an opinion based on ignorance and doubt.”

”How can you judge? Your judgment rests upon the witness that your senses offer you. … You place pathetic faith in what your eyes and ears report.”

”Let Him be judge of what you are, for He has certainty in which there is no doubt, because it rests on Certainty so great that doubt is meaningless before Its face.”

“He will remove all faith you’ve placed in pain, disaster, suffering and loss. He gives you vision which can look beyond these grim appearances, and behold the gentle face of Christ in all of them.”

”…He will judge all happenings, and teach the single lesson that they all contain. He will select the elements in [our thoughts] which represent the truth, and disregard those aspects which reflect but idle dreams.”

With all this in mind, I did the first practice session. I quieted my mind for a moment and this thought popped up: “I gotta hurry up.” Definitely the ego’s voice. I can always tell because its thoughts usually start with “I” or “You.”

”Why?” was the immediate response from this Other Voice. Definitely not the ego.

”Because I want to get this done before my upcoming Zoom call.”

”Why?”

“Because I want to post this so I can relax and enjoy the rest of the day.”

”Why?” …Really?

”Because I’m supposed to do these every day. That’s what I told people I would do.”

”Why?” …Seriously?

”Because…because I have to, that’s all.”

”Why?” …Oh, come on!

”Because…well…I guess I don’t HAVE to. It’s not like the world is waiting for it or I’m getting paid to do it.”

”Now we’re getting somewhere.”

The Divine could have responded to my “I gotta hurry up” with a calming translation like “you have all the time you need—what’s your hurry?” But instead, it took a Socratic approach and let me come to my own, more insightful translation.

From there, the session shifted into judgment and how limited our human scope is in perceiving the truth of any situation. Here I was, feeling stressed about getting this written and posted, judging it as something so critical that I was willing to lose my peace over it.

The reality is I don’t HAVE to do this today. I don’t even have to do it at all. That alone eased much of the anxiety. Now I can approach from a different perspective—observer mode rather than panicked-ego mode. I want to write this. I want to color this mandala. I want to post it.

My exchange with the Divine started more as an interview than a translation of my thoughts, but the translation came through as part of the process.

However we receive the reality of a situation, it benefits us to turn our often debilitating ego thoughts over to the Divine. All we need to do is be open to receiving it in whatever form it takes.

“Lesson 151…tells us that our senses are not reliable witnesses. Over and over again, they distort reality.”
