Lesson 231: ”Father, I will but to remember You.”

Reframe: I choose to remember the Source of love and clarity.

Suggested Practice:

From now on:
One in the morning and one in the evening for however many minutes feels sufficient. Then every hour remember/recite the idea for the day.

Prayer For today:
(feel free to swap out the wording to whatever resonates with you best)

“What can I seek for, Father, but Your Love? ²Perhaps I think I seek for something else; a something I have called by many names. ³Yet is Your Love the only thing I seek, or ever sought. ⁴For there is nothing else that I could ever really want to find. ⁵Let me remember You. ⁶What else could I desire but the truth about myself?” (ACIM, W-231.1:1-6)

For Lessons 231-240Salvation is the theme. Read the whole article here.
“The Thought of peace was given to God’s Son the instant that his mind had thought of war. ²There was no need for such a Thought before, for peace was given without opposite, and merely was. ³But when the mind is split there is a need of healing. ⁴So the Thought that has the power to heal the split became a part of every fragment of the mind that still was one, but failed to recognize its oneness. ⁵Now it did not know itself, and thought its own Identity was lost.

Salvation is undoing in the sense that it does nothing, failing to support the world of dreams and malice. ²Thus it lets illusions go.” (ACIM, W-pII.2.2:1–3:2)

From the PART II IntroductionRead the whole introduction here.

Words will mean little now. ²We use them but as guides on which we do not now depend. ³For now we seek direct experience of truth alone. ⁴The lessons that remain are merely introductions to the times in which we leave the world of pain, and go to enter peace. ⁵Now we begin to reach the goal this course has set, and find the end toward which our practicing was always geared.” (ACIM, W-pII.in.1:1-5)

Message

When I sit with today’s lesson, I picture a cozy country cottage nestled in the woods. As I approach, I feel like I’m coming home. It’s safe. Peaceful. Love. The door opens, and a warm, glowing energy welcomes me in. There’s nothing I have to do. I can just be. Whatever answers or guidance I need are here. This is how I remember what the Course calls “Father.”

The lesson’s phrasing—”Father, I will but to remember You”—doesn’t speak to me directly. So I asked for a visual representation of what it means, and this cottage came. For me, remembering God means returning to that inner place of peace and wholeness, not parsing a sentence.

Even as I write this, I feel that energy override any fears or worries about what to share. Being in this presence reminds me the connection is available 24/7 and I can choose it anytime. It calms me and assures me that whatever I’m facing, I am whole and complete as I am and I’ll be guided.

“We are safe. We are loved. There is nothing to fear.”
