Lesson 260: ”Let me remember God created me.”
Reframe: I remember that I am a radiant expression of love.
Suggested Practice:
From now on:
Once in the morning and once in the evening for however many minutes feels sufficient. Then every hour remember/recite the idea for the day.
Prayer For today:
(feel free to swap out the wording to whatever resonates with you best)
“Father, I did not make myself, although in my insanity I thought I did. ²Yet, as Your Thought, I have not left my Source, remaining part of Who created me. ³Your Son, my Father, calls on You today. ⁴Let me remember You created me. ⁵Let me remember my Identity. ⁶And let my sinlessness arise again before Christ’s vision, through which I would look upon my brothers and myself today.” (ACIM, W-260.1:1-6)
OR… “Let me remember my Identity.”
For Lessons 261-270: What is the body? is the theme. Read the whole article here.
”The body is a fence the Son of God imagines he has built, to separate parts of his Self from other parts.”… The body is a dream. ²Like other dreams it sometimes seems to picture happiness, but can quite suddenly revert to fear, where every dream is born. ³For only love creates in truth, and truth can never fear. ⁴Made to be fearful, must the body serve the purpose given it. ⁵But we can change the purpose that the body will obey by changing what we think that it is for… The body is the means by which God’s Son returns to sanity …³The Son of God extends his hand to reach his brother, and to help him walk along the road with him. ⁴Now is the body holy. ⁵Now it serves to heal the mind…³Your safety lies in truth, and not in lies. ⁴Love is your safety. ⁵Fear does not exist. ⁶Identify with love, and you are safe.⁷Identify with love, and you are home. ⁸Identify with love, and find your Self.
From the PART II Introduction: Read the whole introduction here.
“Words will mean little now. ²We use them but as guides on which we do not now depend. ³For now we seek direct experience of truth alone. ⁴The lessons that remain are merely introductions to the times in which we leave the world of pain, and go to enter peace. ⁵Now we begin to reach the goal this course has set, and find the end toward which our practicing was always geared.” (ACIM, W-pII.in.1:1-5)

Message
Growing up in a strict religious home and church, then attending a religious school, I was repeatedly told we were made in the image and likeness of God. Since we occupy human bodies, I was also led to believe God was human too—just residing up in the sky with superhuman powers. Being female, I found it confusing and frustrating that God had to be a man. No one ever explained it in a way that made sense.
Now, going through these Lessons and doing the practices, I understand God differently—not as a man in the sky, but as a formless, infinite principle of pure Love. That changes the context of the “image and likeness” story. If God is pure Love and God created me like Himself, then I must also be pure Love. It’s interesting that this resonates better with me today than it would have 200 or even 100 Lessons ago. For me, this slow, steady progression has been chipping away at old beliefs, releasing me from fears and limiting beliefs in a loving, graceful way.
Remembering that God created me gives me comfort because it shifts my perspective. Instead of fretting in ego mind about the past or future, or worrying how things will work out, I focus on Divine mind by being present, asking God for help, and trusting the answers will present themselves as needed.
I admit, every day when I get ready to write these blog posts, Juni—my name for my ego mind—jumps right in: “You don’t know what to write about.” “Do you even know what the lesson means?” “What makes you think you have any authority to write about this?” When I catch her thoughts, I stop, take a deep breath, and remind myself that God created me. From that higher space of calm and knowing, the words flow. Et voilà. Here we are. And Juni? She’s gone quiet.
My takeaway today: ego mind frets about past and future. I want to remember to choose Divine mind instead, because as God created me, I am present and trusting.
“Source consciousness is infinite. There is literally no limit to its generosity.”
