309 – Glass Float Mandala
I love this idea! It started with the 1999-2000 season. In Lincoln City, OR, local glass artisans create beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass floats for the LC Visitor and Convention Bureau’s annual “Finders Keepers” event. They “hide” the floats along the tide lines along the coast, inviting people visit Lincoln City to search for their own brilliantly-colored, signed and numbered glass float.

Created by the brilliantly creative mind of Treasure Island Florida artist, Nadia Satya, she brings magic to the world with her intricate patterns and delightful use of color, making them look like metallic steampunk art…and she does it using color pencils on black paper! …hence the magical part!

In 2014 Tel Aviv architect firm, HQ ARCHITECTS, installed two pairs of these beautiful giant red flowers in Jerusalem’s Vallero Square…and they move! As people stand under them, or the tram arrives, they inflate; when they go away, they deflate.

305 – Golden Wheels Mandala
I LOVE today’s MotD…it touches my heart and soul. Here Indonesian photographer Victor Djaja combines the ordinary (bicycle) with the sacred (I Ching Mandala) capturing the full spectrums of yellows, golds, and browns so beautifully, creating a beautiful flow between all the components within the photo.

You can view today’s MotD as a trick of the “eye” or a feast for the palate. For me it’s a treat for my mandala soul. I love the shapes, the colors, and definitely the creative imagination of Kitchen Table Scraps, the fabulous makers of this Creepy Coconut Kiwi Panna Cotta (recipe included!).
