Found in Rocky Hill, a Yokuts Sacred Place, outside of Exeter, California and indexed as part of the California Department of Parks & Recreation Historic and Archaeological Resources, this rock art beautiful demonstrates that even way back when, people felt compelled to draw mandalas.
I love when I find mandala-like patterns on our earthen creatures…in this case the malaclemys terrapin littoralis (more commonly known as the Texas diamondback terrapin) usually found from the middle of Louisiana to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Is this awesome or what! When I first saw this photo, it took me a moment to realize that rather than it hanging off a wall, this beautiful mandala is resting atop his head!
The amazing garden mandala grows at the Perelandra Center for Nature Research in Virginia, co-founded by Machaelle Wright, a nature researcher, teacher, and flower essence researcher.
While surfing the web I saw this beautiful image and tracked it down to an opal auction site. Anything with opal in it always grabs my attention…it’s my birthstone.
