This week’s MotD theme: Hubba Hubba Hubcaps
Pacific Northwesterner, college graduate, painter, interior design lover, DIYer, and blogger, Reeves, of The Weathered Door, presents this delightful DIY repurposing garden art project…turning hubcaps into delightful garden ornaments. What a fun project!
She calls it hubcapping. And on her hubcapping page she shows us how to make these bright and shiny hubcap flowers. Be sure to read through the comments where she offers more tips and insights on how to make these.
About her blog and her projects she states:
I started this blog for a school project my senior year of high school, to update pictures and steps of pieces I have done. My interest in upcycling and repurposing began a couple years ago. The first project I did myself was turning an old, weathered door into my headboard (note the name). Over the past few years I’ve focused on making over furniture, which I sell locally, and sharing my process, mistakes, and triumphs along the way.
View more of her projects on her Before and After pages. You can also follow her and her projects on facebook.
Inspiration for Today
Reeve’s hubcap flowers remind us of how we can co-create with nature to take an already lovely garden and turn into a lovely and lively garden.
