New Week::New Theme: Rose Windows

Spanish photographer, Carlos Lorenzo, of Barcelona Photoblog, gives us this beautiful outside image of Santa Maria del Pi‘s rose window, which is a faithful 1940 reproduction of the original destroyed in a 1936 fire. Located in Barcelona, Spain, this 14th-century gothic church is dedicated to the Blessed Lady of the Pine Tree.

About his blog site he states:

Barcelona pictures there are many, commented Barcelona photos there are few. I intend to provide not just images but information about the daily life of the city and aspects of artistic expression such as Barcelona sculpture, Barcelona architecture, Barcelona street art, Art Nouveau.

Inspiration For Today

Many meanings and legends surround the pine tree. Today’s MotD inspires us to adopt the one related to the Iroquois tribe: the tree of peace. Let’s bury our “weapons” (anger, hurts, judgements, resentments, etc) underneath the pine tree, allowing the roots to send them on their way via the underground waters.

Happy Coloring!
