My coloring progress for today:
[Select an image for a larger view]
1 – add dark blue shadow to purple petals
2 – add purple to dark blue shadow to purple petals
3 – blend and add violet to purple & dark blue shadow on purple petals
4 – add a blue wash over “light” areas on purple petals
5 – add white highlights to blue areas on purple petals
6 – full view of today’s progess
Today I played with the purple petals, giving them more depth (darker shadows) and more definition (white highlights). It’s interesting to see what a difference it makes to incorporate more contrasts. It gives the petals, and the flower overall, more dimensionality and personality.
Check out Day 1’s Progress.
Read about the “Primrose Mandala” as this week’s Mandala of the Week.
About the Mandalas of the Day:
I post a variety of in-progress art for that day which can include mandalas from the Mandala of the Week, the Mandala of the Month, the Mandala of the Year, or the Mandala Meditation Stones.
Happy Coloring!

My Mission: connecting with our Inner Light in delightful, inspiring ways
For me, creating mandalas is more than just coloring pretty patterns in a circle. I do it because my spiritual evolution and creativity require it of me. My mandala designs come about within an active meditative state, connected with my higher self, my spiritual guides and nature spirits.
Together, we bring into form, mandala art the allows me to re-connect with my own inner peace and joy, letting me explore and expand my own creative spirit to however far and in whatever direction I want to take it.
As part of my own spiritual journey, I encourage, and hopefully inspire, others to explore their own creativity, to help them re-connect with their own inner peace and joy. As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
