My coloring progress for today:
[Select an image for a larger view]
1 – darken outer section of blue center
2 – add darker shadows to yellow “petals”
3 – add white highlights to blue section
4 – tone down white highlights to blue section
5 – add brown/gold shading to yellow “petals”
6 – add brown/gold shading to yellow ring around center
7 – add darker shading to purple center
8 – add white highlights to purple center and yellow “petals”
9 – full view of today’s progress
Essentially I finished the updates to Primrose #2 by adding more depth (shading and shadows) and details (highlights) to the center section using markers and gel pens. Next step involves adhering it to a primed (and yet to be painted) wood panel. I’ll save that for another day.

And here’s today’s:

Read about the “Primrose Mandala” as this week’s Mandala of the Week.
About the Mandalas of the Day:
I post a variety of in-progress art for that day which can include mandalas from the Mandala of the Week, the Mandala of the Month, the Mandala of the Year, or the Mandala Meditation Stones.
Happy Coloring!

My Mission: connecting with our Inner Light in delightful, inspiring ways
For me, creating mandalas is more than just coloring pretty patterns in a circle. I do it because my spiritual evolution and creativity require it of me. My mandala designs come about within an active meditative state, connected with my higher self, my spiritual guides and nature spirits.
Together, we bring into form, mandala art the allows me to re-connect with my own inner peace and joy, letting me explore and expand my own creative spirit to however far and in whatever direction I want to take it.
As part of my own spiritual journey, I encourage, and hopefully inspire, others to explore their own creativity, to help them re-connect with their own inner peace and joy. As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
