Today’s Mandala
Sunflower
“Keep your face to the sunshine
— Helen Keller
and you cannot see the shadow.
It’s what sunflowers do.”
“If roses tried to be sunflowers,
— Matshona Dhliwayo
they would lose their beauty;
and if sunflowers tried to be roses,
they would lose their strength.”
“I want to be like a sunflower;
— Unknown
so that even on the darkest days
I will stand tall and find the sunlight.”
Today’s MotD celebrates the Sunflower. The meaning of sunflowers encompasses happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration, and devotion. Along with their beauty and their invaluable resources (seeds, oil, bee pollination, food, etc)… sunflowers exemplify the power and strength of being present in the light.
May our lives be ever filled with the warm and inviting faces of sunflowers.
Blessings,
Maureen
