“Truth is so rare— Emily Dickinson
that it is delightful to tell it.”
“Have regular hours for work and play;— Louisa May Alcott
make each day both useful and pleasant,
and prove that you understand
the worth of time
by employing it well.
Then youth will be delightful,
old age will bring few regrets,
and life will become
a beautiful success.”
“— Maxwell MaltzThe most delightful surprise in lifeis to suddenly recogniseyour own worth.”
Today’s MotD encourages us to merrily roll along in a delightful state of mind as often as possible. Yes, ”stuff” happens, ”life” happens, and yet we always have the opportunity to find delight (the light) in any given moment and within ourselves.
Currently (July 2022) we’re experiencing a heat wave. While in and of itself can be seen as -not- delightful, walking into an air-conditioned building is _quite_ delightful. And how amazing (delightful at times) is it to step outside and feel the heat radiating from an almost perfect ball of hot plasma almost 93 billion miles away.
Some days are easier than others to be delighted and delightful. Know that the more we recognize and acknowledge the delightfulness to be found all around us, the more we experience it, inside and out. And when we are filled with this delightfulness, we spread it like confetti every where we go.
To embrace this, we can start each day be asking ourselves the question: ”In what ways can I be delighted and delightful today?”
