Today’s Mandala
Torch
“You still stand watch,
— Karel Capek
O human star,
burning without a flicker,
perfect flame, bright
and resourceful spirit.
Each of your rays a great idea
– O torch which passes
from hand to hand,
from age to age,
world without end.”
“A great [person] is a torch
— Robert Green Ingersoll
in the darkness,
a beacon in superstition’s night,
an inspiration and a prophecy.”
“We cannot hold a torch
— Ben Sweetland
to light another’s path
without brightening our own.”
Today’s MotD encourages us to embrace the Light that we are and use that Light as a torch to light the way for those who seek it. Our challenge becomes keeping our own torch ablaze, to find the kindling that stokes and maintain the fire within us.
And if any of us struggle at times with finding our Light, take the time to ponder the question: what lights me up? where do I feel fired up in a positive way? what makes me eager to start my day? If the answer alludes, then make the commitment to pay attention for when we do light up.
One of the best ways to keep our torch ablaze is to share our Light; it shows the way to their own Light.
“And as we let our own light shine,
— Marianne Williamson
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.”
“A candle loses nothing
— James Keller
by lighting another candle.”
