Today’s Mandala
Open
“Follow your bliss
— Joseph Campbell
and the universe
will open doors
where there were only walls.”
“Whatever we are waiting for
— Sarah Ban Breathnach
– peace of mind, contentment, grace,
the inner awareness
of simple abundance –
it will surely come to us,
but only when we are ready
to receive it
with an open and grateful heart.”
“Let yourself be open
— Buddha
and life will be easier.”
Today’s MotD encourages us to open up, to let our Inner Light shine outward and to allow love, joy, and opportunities to flow in. Over many years of experiencing hurts and disappointments, we’ve learned to close ourselves off more and more in an effort to keep ourselves safe. In the process, though, we’ve also closed ourselves off from experiencing the good stuff: love and joy. How’s that working out for us?
Our challenge becomes trusting that we can handle whatever comes our way. Think of it this way, we’ve handled everything else so far and we’re still here. We’re also not the same people we were when we first experienced these hurts and disappointments. We just need to open the door a crack, test the waters, and remind ourselves that we can handle it. With each step forward, we gain more confidence and more trust in ourselves…the bottom line is to remain true to ourselves, be willing to stand up, be willing to show up…because people are waiting for the Light we have to offer.
“Good times and bum times,
—Ann Miller and Stephen Sondheim
I’ve seen them all
And, my dear,
I’m still here.”
Blessings,
