Today’s Mandala
Enter
‘The teacher who is indeed wise
— Khalil Gibran
does not bid you to enter
the house of [their] wisdom
but rather leads you
to the threshold of your mind.’
“Enter every activity
— Paul J. Meyer
without giving mental recognition
to the possibility of defeat.
Concentrate on your strengths,
instead of your weaknesses…
on your powers,
instead of your problems.”
“Enter to learn;
— Mary McLeod Bethune
depart to serve.”
Today’s MotD encourages us to enter into new beginnings, new opportunities, new adventures with an open heart and an open mind. If we notice fear attempting to weasel its way into our psyche, that’s okay. One way we can quickly transform it is by taking a deep breath (or a few) and reciting the mantra: “I’m excited”. This mantra can alter the body’s chemistry such that it actually relaxes it. When we’re fearful our flight or flight defenses kicks in but when we’re excited the body realizes that “oh, what we’re about to do is a good thing we’re about to do”.
Our challenge becomes allowing ourselves, as we feel inspired, to enter into new adventures, to broaden our horizons. When we do, we in turn inspire others to enter into their new adventures.
