22-335 Shift

Today’s Mandala
Shift

“When we shift our perception,
our experience changes.”

— Lindsay Wagner

“It’s not only moving
that creates new starting points.
Sometimes all it takes
is a subtle shift in perspective,
an opening of the mind,
an intentional pause and reset,
or a new route to start to see
new options and new possibilities.”

— Kristin Armstrong

“My purpose
is to help people look at themselves
and begin to shift their concepts.
Remember, we are not our country,
our race, or religion.
We are eternal spirits.
Seeing ourselves
as spiritual beings without label
is a way to transform the world
and reach a sacred place
for all of humanity.”

— Wayne Dyer

Today’s MotD reminds us that at any time we can shift our views, shift our perspectives, shift our lives. Our challenge becomes giving ourselves permission to change our minds. It takes an open mind and a healthy ego to be willing to see people, things, and/or events from a different perspective. It takes wisdom to ask the questions of which we lack the answers. It takes humility to seek help when we struggle to see beyond our current circumstances.

From Marie Rowland on WellBeing.com.au she writes on perspective in her article How to change your perspective and change your life: “We know that two people can look at the same thing, yet see different things. Perspective is not the truth, only an opinion. When you challenge your ready-made perspective you allow yourself to consider things with greater wisdom and compassion — not just for yourself but for those who matter to you. Using such tools as equanimity, empathy and EQ, where you employ positive regard, you can reorient your mind and change that preconditioned natural bias…By changing your perspective, you not only can change your own life but you have the power to change the world.

“We can complain
because rose bushes have thorns
or rejoice that thorn bushes have roses.”

— Abraham Lincoln
