Look Up
“Look up to the sky.
— Charle Chaplin
You’ll never find rainbows
if you’re looking down.”
“So remember
— Stephen Hawking
to look up at the stars
and not down at your feet.
Try to make sense of what you see
and hold on to that childlike wonder
about what makes the universe exist.”
“Sorrow looks back,
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Worry looks around,
Faith looks up”
Today’s MotD reminds us to look up once in a while, we may surprise ourselves by what we manifest. Our brains tend to be hardwired for negative, a survivor holdover from our ancestors who existed in a threatening world. And because of that we tend to worry, overly stress ourselves, and think everything is some form of threat. And because of that we tend to have stress-related health issues. While having a positive mindset tends to manifest in our overall healthier wellbeing-ness.
From Johns-Hopkins on positive thinking: “… there is definitely a strong link between “positivity” and health. Additional studies have found that a positive attitude improves outcomes and life satisfaction across a spectrum of conditions—including traumatic brain injury, stroke and brain tumors.”
Our challenge now becomes re-wiring our brains to a positive mindset. From Psycom.net they offer “Proven Ways to Develop a Positive Mindsent and Why it Matters .” From BetterHelp.com they offer “The Power of Positive Thinking For Your Life and How To Do It.”
“Negative self-talk and thinking can be a hard pattern to break. But, that does not mean it is impossible. Positive thinking is an extremely worthwhile endeavor and can change your daily life as well as your health in the long run.” — BetterHelp.com
“Keep looking up…
— Snoopy
that’s the secret of life.”
