Continuing with Principle #2 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Be clear why you are here”, I set the intention to ponder my values, the ones that are important to me. So this is interesting (at least to me). I just realized that in looking over the exercise Canfield offered to help us create our life purpose statement, I misread the first thing he asked us to do. I thought it said to determine your values. When in reality he asked us to list two of our unique personal qualities (UPQ). Very different indeed. I’m realizing now that I mixed up this exercise with another one suggested by my friend last week which is found on TapRoot.com entitled How to Live Your Core Values.
So now what do I do? I’ve already colored this mandala using the “values” intention. I have to trust that my Inner Self wanted me to look at my values first before doing the exercise associated with this principle. My sense tells me to still do Canfield’s exercise AND the “Core Values” exercise. Let’s see how that goes tomorrow.
How about you? What values are important to you? The Taproot.com link provided includes over 100 of them. If you continue with the TapRoot exercise on that page, what did you end up with as your core values?
“Define your priorities,
— Les Brown
know your values
and believe in your purpose.
Only then
can you effectively share yourself
with others.”
An Invitation
I invite you to color along with me this year as part of what I’m calling “The Year of Self-Exploration and Expansion” with all of my “Mandalas of the ___” (day, week, month, year). If you’re interested in more of a self-exploration approach to coloring, check out my “Coloring Mandalas as Meditation”. You can download this mandala at MandalaoftheWeek.com.
