Today’s Mandala Message: Do Five Things
This week I’m working through Principles #23 and #24 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Practice the Rule of Five” and “Exceed Expectations”, respectively. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of doing five things a day toward my goal(s). Canfield shared this advice he received from Ron Scolastico: “If you would go every day to a very large tree and take five swings at it with a very sharp axe, eventually, no matter how large the tree, it would have to come down.”
From that, came “The Rule of Five”, which “simply means that every day, we do five specific things that will move our goal toward completion.” Coming up with five things every day seems a bit much to me however I realize that those “things” can be small things that “chip” away at making my goal a reality. What would help make this easier would be to analyze what actions need to be done in order to achieve my goal(s), then break that down into small, bite-size tasks whereby five of them _could_ be done daily.
So how about you? What five things can you do today that move you closer to your goal? And how about tomorrow?
“If you want to experience
— unknown
significant progress
toward your goal,
you need to be intentional
about the work you’re doing
every day.”
Blessings,
