23-121 The Rule of Five #2

Today’s Mandala Message: Do a Little Bit Every Day

This week I’m working through Principles #23 and #24 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Practice the Rule of Five” and “Exceed Expectations”, respectively. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of doing a little bit every day towards achieving my goal(s).

Canfield shared a story about a woman and her daughter hiking new Lake Arrowhead where they saw fields and fields of daffodils…”as far as the eye can see”. They came up to a sign that read:

“Answers to the Questions I Know You are Asking”
”1. One Woman — Two Hands, Two Feet and Very Little Brain”
”2. One at a time”
”3. Started in 1958”

He shared this story to demonstrate how over time, a little bit each day can produce huge results. I’ve already been applying this principle towards learning French, calligraphy, and the piano. I’m amazed by my progress with only practicing 20-30 minutes a day.

So how about you? Is there something you can do a little bit at a time to help you reach your goal(s)? Is it worth it to you to spend 10-20 minutes a day on it/them? Can you make the time?

“Progress means getting nearer
to the place you want to be.
And if you have taken a wrong turn,
then to go forward
does not get you any nearer.
If you are on the wrong road,
progress means doing an about-turn
and walking back to the right road;
and in that case
the [one] who turns back soonest
is the most progressive [one].”
