Lesson 112: ”Review: Light and joy and peace abide in me; I am as God created me.”

AI Reframe: Peace lives within me, and my essence remains whole.

Suggested Practice:
Devote five minutes twice a day, or longer, to considering the thoughts that are assigned today. Read over the ideas and comments that are written with each. Then think about them while letting your mind relate them to your needs, your seeming problems, and all your concerns.

Today’s Ideas:

Light and joy and peace abide in me.

I am the home of light and joy and peace.  I welcome them into the home I share with God, because I am a part of Him*.”(ACIM, W-112.1:2-3)

and

I am as God* created me.

I will remain forever as I was, created by the Changeless like Himself. And I am one with Him, and He with me.(ACIM, W-112.2:2-3)

Then throughout the day, hourly if possible, give the two ideas a brief review: one at the top of the hour, one at the bottom. Conclude each period restating the idea for that part of the hour.

As a reminder, these practices are planned to help you form the habit of applying what you learn each day to everything you do.

Message

I think of today’s review as a reminder to stop looking outside myself for light, peace, and joy. I already have and am these things. That’s because I am as God created me, and God is all of them wrapped up in love. Just do the math: if A = B, then B = A.

Doing today’s practices helps me chip away at—or, in the Course’s terms, remove—the veil that hides my light, peace, and joy. What’s the veil? Anything the ego-mind puts forth: fears, limiting beliefs, grievances—to name a few.

When I go deeper, past the veils, I come to an oasis of stillness, beauty, and tranquility. Its small body of water, quite deep, is like a scrying mirror where I can offer my questions and concerns. Slowly, the answer or guidance rises to the surface.

I said this before when explaining today’s practice, but it’s worth repeating: these practices are meant to help you form the habit of applying what you learn each day to everything you do. That habit begins with remembering who you really are.

We are light, peace, and joy because we are as God created us.

“With practice and daily attention, we can reconnect with the full spectrum and start to notice that miracles are everyday affairs, as common as the morning sunrise.”
