Lesson 142: Review of Lessons 123 and 124
AI Reframe: My awareness retains only what aligns with truth: gratitude and unity.
Suggested Practice:
Two five-minute sessions: morning and evening. Start each session by opening your mind and clearing it of all thoughts that would deceive, and let this thought alone engage your mind fully, and remove the rest:
My mind holds only what I think with God.*
Then read each of today’s review ideas:
123: I thank my Father* for His gifts to me.
124: Let me remember I am one with God.
Close your eyes and say them slowly to yourself. Let each idea give you the gift that He* has laid in it for you. Then close the practice with the first idea.
Throughout the day, each hour, bring to mind today’s main idea and two review ideas. Spend a quiet moment with them without adding any other thoughts.
*Father/God/His: an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message. The Will of God is our happiness.
Message
While doing the first practice outside in our town’s Central Park, I had a bit of an epiphany. Contemplating God’s gifts of peace, love, and joy, I realized that I experience my connection with these gifts mostly in the present moment. Fears, limiting beliefs, and grievances, on the other hand, tend to focus on the past or the future.
For instance, at the park, I felt happy and peaceful in that moment as I looked at the trees and blooming bushes. I heard birds singing and children playing. Not a cloud in the sky, a gentle breeze in the shade. Even when a train passed by, I kept my peace.

To be honest, my mind wandered several times. Anxious thoughts about what I’d do after leaving the park popped up. Concerned thoughts about what I’d write today made an entrance. Then thoughts about something from last week.
Then I remembered today’s lesson about being thankful for the Divine’s gifts. That brought me back to the present and how peaceful it felt. That’s when it occurred to me: ego thoughts rarely have anything to do with what’s happening now, while peaceful, joyful ones do.
As for the second review idea—remembering that I am one with God—an unusual visual came to mind. I saw translucent energy floating above the park. Then my own translucent energy rose up and united with the larger one. It reminded me that who I really am is consciousness. I’m temporarily taking up residence in this body, which is a vehicle for experiencing this earthly dimension. That gave me a broader perspective of my true identity. I am part of something much bigger and vibrationally much higher than this body.
Doing today’s lesson taught me that to appreciate the gifts and unite with the truth of who I am requires holding only what’s in alignment with the Divine.
“Today, rather than focus on the marketer’s drumbeat of limitation, I focus on the world’s unending largesse. I focus on the bounteous gifts spread out before me.”
