Lesson 242: ”This day is God’s. It is my gift to Him.”

Reframe: This day is a gift; I offer it in awareness and love..

Suggested Practice: 

From now on: 
One in the morning and one in the evening for however many minutes feels sufficient. Then every hour remember/recite the idea for the day. 

Prayer For today: 
(feel free to swap out the wording to whatever resonates with you best)

“And so we give today to You. ²We come with wholly open minds. ³We do not ask for anything that we may think we want. ⁴Give us what You would have received by us. ⁵You know all our desires and our wants. ⁶And You will give us everything we need in helping us to find the way to You.” (ACIM, W-242.2:1-6)

Message

From the Lesson:

”I will not lead my life alone today. ²I do not understand the world, and so to try to lead my life alone must be but foolishness. ³But there is One Who knows all that is best for me. ⁴And He is glad to make no choices for me but the ones that lead to God. ⁵I give this day to Him, for I would not delay my coming home, and it is He Who knows the way to God.” (ACIM, W-242.1:1-5)

Two things come to mind with today’s Lesson: let go of the “how” and welcome the help.

On letting go of the “how”: most manifesting systems advise you to get clear on what you want and your why, do what’s within your control, then turn the rest over to God/Universe/Source to figure out the how. Remain open to how it shows up—donation, word-of-mouth, inheritance, whatever.

With today’s Lesson, we’re encouraged to let God lead. When I do this, I’m more likely to move forward on projects I want to achieve. Today I was led to color the mandala early and continue painting the Archangel Mandala Number 3. By “led” I mean I got still, asked “what’s in my best interest to do right now?” and listened. For me, that usually shows up as a pop-up thought: “color the mandala.”

On welcoming the help: I remember how good it felt when someone took me up on my offer to help. Win-win. They got what they needed, and it warmed my heart to be there for them. When my offers are turned down, I feel bad—mainly for them, because I know they’re struggling and I know I can help.

God wants us to be happy and wants to help make that happen. It’s win-win when we welcome His help, because it leads us back to our natural state of peace, love, and joy—what God would call home. Returning home is our gift to Him. We were given free will, and choosing God when we could choose otherwise is what makes it a gift.

By letting go of the “how” and welcoming His help, we’ll get there sooner.
