Lesson 301 ”And God Himself shall wipe away all tears.”

Reframe: Love heals and restores, bringing comfort and peace.

Suggested Practice:

From now on:
Once in the morning and once in the evening for however many minutes feels sufficient. Then every hour remember/recite the idea for the day.

Prayer For today:
(feel free to swap out the wording to whatever resonates with you best)

“Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. ²Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. ³This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. ⁴Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. ⁵Let me see Your world instead of mine. ⁶And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. ⁷Father, I will not judge Your world today.” (ACIM, W-301.1:1-7)

OR… “Let me not judge today.”

For Lessons 301-310: What is the second coming? is the theme for the next 10 days. Read the whole article here.
”Christ’s Second Coming, which is sure as God, is merely the correction of mistakes, and the return of sanity. ²It is a part of the condition that restores the never lost, and re-establishes what is forever and forever true. ³It is the invitation to God’s Word to take illusion’s place; the willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.” (ACIM, W-pII.9.1:1-3).

OR put another way…

”It’s when we fully embrace our true identity, that we are love personified and as such we whole and complete just as we are.”

From the PART II Introduction: Read the whole introduction here.

“Words will mean little now. ²We use them but as guides on which we do not now depend. ³For now we seek direct experience of truth alone. ⁴The lessons that remain are merely introductions to the times in which we leave the world of pain, and go to enter peace. ⁵Now we begin to reach the goal this course has set, and find the end toward which our practicing was always geared.” (ACIM, W-pII.in.1:1-5)

Message

“God’s world is happy.” (ACIM, W-301.2:1)

If I want to be happy, all I have to do is stop judging. Not once has being judgmental made me truly happy—it made my ego mind happy, projecting a false sense of happiness. Today I did two things where I tend to be most judgy: driving and being at Costco. For some of you, I may not need to say more. You get it.

Driving first. Today I realized this is where I’m most judgmental. I barely left my house when the judging started. I think it has to do with not seeing people, only their cars. I judged the slow drivers, the tailgaters, the speeders, and the inconsiderate ones. At some point, I’ve probably been every one of these drivers. So what does judging do for me? It makes me suffer: stress, anxiety, a sense of urgency, and full-body tension—the kind of suffering the Lesson calls tears. Not an ounce of peace in any of that.

What did I do about it? I used my go-to mantra: no judging—just observing. Each time I caught myself judging or noticed my tensed-up body, I paused, took a deep breath, and recited the mantra—usually more than once. This got me back to neutral and sometimes all the way to peace when fewer cars were present—tears wiped, at least for a moment. On the plus side, because I’ve been working on being more aware of my mindset, I’m getting quicker at noticing the judgments and the tension.

Now Costco. Just trying to park can be stressful. I usually come in the back way and park along the far side, minimizing any opportunity to judge or compete for the “best” spot, and keeping my neutral observer mindset. Once inside, I continuously recite my observer mantra to maintain my peace. When I forgot—at the eyeglasses counter, at checkout, or getting out to my car—I’d eventually catch the body tension first, then run my mantra routine.

I truly want to experience God’s world while here on this earthly plane. Now that I know my two most judgy places, I can monitor my progress as I continue through the remaining 64 Lessons.
