Lesson 307 ”Conflicting wishes cannot be my will.”
Reframe: I align with clarity; confusion has no power over me.
Suggested Practice:
From now on:
Once in the morning and once in the evening for however many minutes feels sufficient. Then every hour remember/recite the idea for the day.
Prayer For today:
(feel free to swap out the wording to whatever resonates with you best)
“Father, Your Will is mine, and only that. ²There is no other will for me to have. ³Let me not try to make another will, for it is senseless and will cause me pain. ⁴Your Will alone can bring me happiness, and only Yours exists. ⁵If I would have what only You can give, I must accept Your Will for me, and enter into peace where conflict is impossible, Your Son is one with You in being and in will, and nothing contradicts the holy truth that I remain as You created me.“ (ACIM, W-307.1:1-5)
OR… “I choose happiness.”
For Lessons 301-310: What is the second coming? is the theme for the next 10 days. Read the whole article here.
”Christ’s Second Coming, which is sure as God, is merely the correction of mistakes, and the return of sanity. ²It is a part of the condition that restores the never lost, and re-establishes what is forever and forever true. ³It is the invitation to God’s Word to take illusion’s place; the willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.” (ACIM, W-pII.9.1:1-3).
OR put another way…
”It’s when we fully embrace our true identity, that we are love personified and as such we are whole and complete just as we are.”
From the PART II Introduction: Read the whole introduction here.
“Words will mean little now. ²We use them but as guides on which we do not now depend. ³For now we seek direct experience of truth alone. ⁴The lessons that remain are merely introductions to the times in which we leave the world of pain, and go to enter peace. ⁵Now we begin to reach the goal this course has set, and find the end toward which our practicing was always geared.” (ACIM, W-pII.in.1:1-5)

Message
“…we enter silently into a state where conflict cannot come…” (ACIM, W-307.2:1)
I had this experience a couple of times today, which feels like progress. One was during an online group session on judgment versus discernment. The idea was that judgment often comes from an automatic reaction rooted in a belief or fear we took on long ago. Discernment, by contrast, asks us to question our response and look more deeply instead of simply reacting—sometimes beginning with a pause in silence rather than reacting right away.
I looked at how I hold back from telling people about exciting projects and ideas because I often get negative reactions, such as “Hasn’t somebody already done that?” or “Don’t you already have enough projects?”
During the session, we were guided to connect with our soul and hear its perspective. I realized I hold back out of fear of being judged—and yet I was judging them, too. Instead of fearing rejection, I can choose to share or not share based on discernment. How people react is up to them. I can wish to hold back out of fear (compression), or I can wish to keep my joy (expansion)—but not both.
The other experience was with Mother Nature. After playing in my studio, I came outside to a glorious, clear autumn afternoon. The sun lit up several trees, and the reds, oranges, and yellows popped against the blue sky. Part of me wanted to head back inside and move on to the next thing. Instead I stayed, just standing in awe and joy, taking in the view and the colors.
Looking back, I have a clearer understanding of what this Lesson teaches. In both cases, the shift came in a moment of silence—a pause before the automatic reaction. And in that pause, it’s simple: I’m either operating from fear or from joy. One is an illusion; the other is real.
