Star Trails by Eric Nathan

201 – Star Trails Mandala

International photographer, Eric Nathan, created this amazing and beautiful nightscape image using hundreds of long-exposure images of the night sky over Cape Town South Africa.

It fascinates me how it creates a vortex-like image in space. Because we move so slowly, we hardly notice the stars “moving” let alone “moving” in a circular pattern.

196 – Pluto’s Heart Mandala

Yesterday an amazing thing happened…and it was 10 years and three-billion-miles in the making! NASA’s New Horizons did it’s closest flyby past the last known planet in our solar system: Pluto. And look what appeared around the back side: an area that looks like a heart. And for me, I can also see it as a white dove flapping its wings.

Venus and Earth Orbits - by Ensign Software

186 – Orbits Mandala

How cool is this. Inspired by the book, ‘A Little Book of Coincidence’ by John Martineau, charting software company, Ensign Software, created this dance of the planets mandala by taking the orbits of venus and earth and digitally drawing a line between the two planet positions every few days.
