Corvallis painter and ceramic artist, Rebecca Arthur, created this beautiful mystical bowl. I love the mysteriousness of this piece. And get this…she paints with smoke and fire! Love the effect. I especially appreciate the “dot” on the right side with little light dots radiating out from it.

Her spectacular use of symmetry and asymmetry along with all the detail work makes for a stunning piece of black and white art. She may be an interior designer by trade but she is an amazing artist at heart.

Even in space you can find mandalas! On dwarf planet, Ceres, NASA discovered this bright spot in Occator Crater that has them intrigued. Truth be told, I think we are all easily captivated by bright, shiny things…n’est-ce pas?
