I love when I can showcase a local artist! Corvallis potter, Sam Hoffman, created this spectacular wood fire porcelain plate that radiates the eternal essence of mandala energy. To me, the curved lines look like dolphins swimming around the moon…with the deep heat of the sun’s energy pulsating in the background.

333 – Wood Orb Mandalas
Korean artist, Jaehyo Lee, created these delightful wooden orbs from discarded wood and tree branches. He assembles various chunks of wood, burns and then carefully polishes them to create visual contrast and a smooth surface. With so many amazing pieces to choose from I decided on this one since today is day 333 in our 365 day calendar.

331 – Paper Snowflake Mandala

330 – La Piedra Pintada Mandala
This amazing round-ish rock formation seems like it should be in some ancient region of the world but you would be mistaken. Known as La Piedra Pintada (Painted Rock), it can be found in central, California. I love when Mother Nature creates mandalas.
329 – Psychedelic Pluto Mandala
Now this is more like the way I would color a planet if given the opportunity!
Earlier this year, NASA’s New Horizons did it’s closest flyby past the last known planet in our solar system: Pluto. Since then, scientists have been working with (or in this case coloring with) the data to gain more insight about this adorable planet’s surface.
