South African artist, Lorraine Loots, creates these amazing miniature works of art which she affectionately calls “Paintings for Ants”. She’s been creating these minuscule paintings every day since January 1, 2013. Her art covers the whole gamut of subjects: musical instruments, animals, statues, galactic, plants, people and everything in between.

259 – Paper Quilled Mandala
Honey, of Honey’s Quilling, created this delightful paper quilled Rangoli magnet set. On her web site she states that she “loves paper quilling.” It shows. Check out some of her other projects.
258 – Joy From Within Mandala
A wonderful customer of mine, Cindy Cloyd, painted this beautiful mandala in her art journal. I love her mixed use of symmetry and asymmetry and the beautiful flow of the design and colors. I also appreciate her free-form style with very little use of outline.
257 – Cathedral de Barcelona Mandala
This beautiful mandala resides on the facade of the Cathedral Basilica of Barcelona probably the most renowned “work in progress” on the planet. Pamela Unplugged visited Barcelona in 2013 and captured this great shot of the mandala above the main entrance to the cathedral. Actually her original photo captured the whole facade and because of the photo’s size, I could zero in on the mandala without loosing the quality of the image.
256 – Mézesmanna Mandalas
These scrumptious works for art are COOKIES!!! Cookie artist, Judit Czinkné Poór, better known as Mézesmanna, creates these amazing delectable Hungarian-styled beauties.
255 – Terrapin Mandala
I love when I find mandala-like patterns on our earthen creatures…in this case the malaclemys terrapin littoralis (more commonly known as the Texas diamondback terrapin) usually found from the middle of Louisiana to Corpus Christi, Texas.
254 – Occator Mandala
Even in space you can find mandalas! On dwarf planet, Ceres, NASA discovered this bright spot in Occator Crater that has them intrigued. Truth be told, I think we are all easily captivated by bright, shiny things…n’est-ce pas?
