This amazing photo captures an astounding moment of human ingenuity, spirit and strength. These people form the foundation of a soon-to-be human tower, known as a “castell” as part of the annual Castells Competition held in the Catalonia region of Spain. This moment in time showcases a very dramatic human mandala.

I love this idea! It started with the 1999-2000 season. In Lincoln City, OR, local glass artisans create beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass floats for the LC Visitor and Convention Bureau’s annual “Finders Keepers” event. They “hide” the floats along the tide lines along the coast, inviting people visit Lincoln City to search for their own brilliantly-colored, signed and numbered glass float.
