Today’s Mandala
Accept
“We cannot change anything
— Carl Jung
until we accept it.
Condemnation does not liberate,
it oppresses.”
“We must let go of the life
— Joseph Campbell
we have planned,
so as to accept the one
that is waiting for us.”
“Whatever you want in life,
— Diane Sawyer
other people are going to want it too.
Believe in yourself enough
to accept the idea
that you have an equal right to it.”
Today’s MotD reminds us that ”to accept” is a verb, an action. It’s one of the first steps to take while on any journey (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc).
To accept where we are as a starting point puts us in a position to take stock of where we are _right now_. From there we can determine where we want to go and take the necessary steps in order to get there.
Let go of ”accepting” meaning a ”passive resignation”. In reality that act of accepting means a “deep, insightful recognition of things as they are” (per Jon Kabat-Zinn). In essence, we are to acknowledge where we are so we can know where to go or what to do next. And from this place of acceptance we can then determine what has to stay and what has to change.
God grant me the Serenity
— Serenity Prayer
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change
the things I can, and
Wisdom to know the difference.
Blessings,
