Today’s Mandala Message: Take The Leap
This week I’m combining Principles #14 and #15 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Lean Into It” and “Experience the Fear and Take Action Anyway”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea of taking a leap. Canfield states: “All the successful people I know have been willing to take a chance—a leap of faith—even thought they were afraid. Sometimes they were terrified, but they knew if they didn’t act, the opportunity would pass them by. They trusted their intuition and they simply went for it.”
He also suggests “If a fear is so big that it paralyzes you, scale down the amount of risk. Take on smaller challenges and work your way up. … Master those skills you need to learn, move through your fears, and then take on bigger challenges.”
Yesterday, I took a big leap (for me, anyway) by videoing myself telling my first channeled story. It came out okay for a first one. It’s a bit rough in some parts and yet I posted anyway…without any edits. After viewing it, I saw what worked and where I could use some improving. The important thing for me is that I’ve been fearful of recording and posting these stories for a variety of reasons. Now that I have the first one done, the fear has lessened and I’m actually looking forward to doing another one this week, which the idea for it came to me last night…after I posted the first one. Funny how that works.
If you care to view it, it’s on youtube: The Pothole Story
Also, I highly recommend reading (or listening to) “The Big Leap…Conquer your hidden fear and take life to the next level” by Gay Hendricks.
So how about you? Are you ready to take a leap? How about a less challenging one?
“We must walk consciously
— Henry David Thoreau
only part way toward our goal,
and then leap in the dark
to our success.”
