Today’s Mandala Message: Visualize Your Ideal Day
This week I’m working through Principle #27 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Keep Your Eye on the Prize”. I set my intention today to ponder the idea visualizing my ideal day. Canfield states: “Another powerful took to keep you focused on creating your life exactly as you want it to be is to take a few minutes after you have planned your next day’s schedule and visualize the entire day going exactly as you want it…This will give your subconscious all night to work on creating ways to make it all happen just as you have visualized it.”
I do a variation on this idea called segment intending. It comes from Abraham-Hicks. Essentially it means that as you approach each segment of your day, you set an intention as to how you want it to go. For instance, when I go to visit my chiropractor who’s office is a 1.5 hour drive away, I set the intention as I’m about to leave my driveway to arrive quickly, safely, and easily and in plenty of time for my appointment. Just before I go into his office, I set the intention to receive the exact care I and my body needs to receive at this time. Then on the way home, I again set the intention of arriving home quickly, safely, and easily.
Either way, I have found it to be amazingly beneficial to set these intentions or do these visualizations. When I forget to do so, I’m more in autopilot mode which means anything could happen. Above all, I find it most helpful to set my intentions around how I want to feel versus how I want it to go step-by-step. In other words, my intention would be something like: when I leave my chiropractor appointment, I’ll feel uplifted and energized, with a clear plan of action for my health. This way the how doesn’t matter, it will get taken care of beyond what I could possibly come up with.
A good mindfulness practice would be to as you start to fall asleep, visualize your next day in an ideal way.
So how about you? Do you take time to visualize your day? Do you tend to hit the ground running, tackling each thing as it comes up? Could you take a quick moment to set an intention for the day or for at least a segment of it?
“If you want your dreams
— Pam Malow-Isham
to come true
you must visualize them,
be excited about them,
work for them and
don’t give up until
you have realized them.
The journey is needed
for true enjoyment
and fulfillment in life.
Aimlessly hoping
never accomplished
anything.”
