When I spotted these Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies on Elana’s Pantry’s site the other day, I knew I had to showcase them…mostly for sentimental reasons. My mom used to make these every Christmas; she was a fabulous baker. And when I was old enough, she let me help her make them.

185 – Red, White and Blue Mandala
This beautiful and delightful red, white and blue, berry cake and photograph comes to us today from the great people of our local establishment, Eats and Treats Cafe…a totally gluten-free cafe. I LOVE their food…both savory and sweet.
177 – Ratatouille Mandala
This gorgeous ratatouille casserole comes courtesy of 12Tomatoes.com. I love how all the veggies are cut in equally round shapes: zucchini, bell peppers, and eggplant. Even the casserole dish is a lovely round shape.
170 – Prawn Kimchi Noodle Mandala
I love the multiple representations of symmetrical and asymmetrical mandalas (food and plates) and spirals (prawns), all presented in a simple, elegant, asymmetrical way over an abstract background. While being a potential feast for the taste buds, it starts out as a feast for the eyes.
160 – Cacao Banana Wholesome Bowl Mandala
On her June 8, 2015 Instagram page, Amalia Bussard, the_wholesome_bowl, put together this symmetrical bowl of colorful goodness using cacao banana nice cream topped with strawberries, blackberries, pumpkin seeds, coconut, almonds, and goji berries.
139 – Pizookie Mandala
San Diego paleo food enthusiast and cookbook author, Vanessa, of Clean Eating with a Dirty Mind created these delightful goodies called Pizookies (they’re a pizza, they’re a cookie…they’re a pizza, they’re a cookie…they’re a pizza, they’re a cookie).
130 – Onion Mandala
My friend Nadine, the Gluten-Free RN, posted on facebook this photo of a red onion she sliced open. It was too cute not to share on MotD. Who knew onions made faces?
