Cottage Grove mixed media artist, Shannon Weber, created these amazing art pieces from pieces of Mother Nature entitled “Life Guard Towers.” She used beaver sticks, knotless knitting, wax linen on found beach glass, and kelp bulbs: carved, stitched and woven. I love how her very creative imagination could take all of these individual pieces and put them all together in such delightful ways.

359 – Glass Ornaments Mandala
Gerry, my wonderful husband, cleverly captured this awesome photo of a crafty Christmas ornament project I worked on yesterday. What makes it so clever is that he took it from underneath the display. When he showed me the photo, he said…”look…a mandala.” (Yes, even he is trained to see mandalas 🙂 ) Very cool!
357 – Raindrops Mandala
Willamette Valley photographer, Vicky Hollenbeck, captured this fascinating photo of reflective light and raindrops on glass. Her process of grabbing this moment in time allowed for all of the “mandalas” of light to appear…some perfectly round, others a bit more wonky. Either way…it makes for a very interesting art piece.
352 – Turquoise Dish Mandala
What a beautiful dish! Philomath kilnformed glass artist, Sara Morrissey, of Morrissey Glass Art, created this delightful piece of art that … More
309 – Glass Float Mandala
I love this idea! It started with the 1999-2000 season. In Lincoln City, OR, local glass artisans create beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass floats for the LC Visitor and Convention Bureau’s annual “Finders Keepers” event. They “hide” the floats along the tide lines along the coast, inviting people visit Lincoln City to search for their own brilliantly-colored, signed and numbered glass float.
299 – Rainbow Mosque Mandala
Inside the dome of the Nasir-al-Mulk Mosque in Shariz, Iran we experience an exquisite piece of rosace art as today’s MotD. How can I even begin to express in mere words what looking at this ceiling does for me…
271 – Fun Glass Mandalas
Glass and Metal artist, Katy LaReau, created these delightfully whimsical garden art pieces that I had the pleasure of seeing in person yesterday at the annual Corvallis Fall Festival in Corvallis, Oregon. If you’re ever in Oregon towards the end of September, I highly recommend visiting wonderful art and music festival.
