Corvallis potter extraordinaire, Cynthia Spencer, of Spencer Work in Clay, created this delightful stacking ceramic sculpture in sunset colors for the outdoors…bringing whimsey to the garden.
Along with creating beautiful sculptures, vases and serving ware, she also creates pieces like this one that delight the imagination and the garden…and loaded with lots of mandala-like shapes and designs.
About her art she states:
Spencer Work in Clay is the all-purpose name I chose for my business because what I like to do most in life is play in clay. Sometimes this means pots for use, sometimes sculpture for the garden, sometimes work that just needs to be made to continue my dialog with myself.
All work is hand-built from slabs or pinch-coiled into shape and high-fired for durability and use.
Today’s MotD encourages us to play with nature…to co-create delightful pieces of art.
