Lesson 107: ”Truth will correct all errors in my mind.”

AI Reframe: Clarity naturally dissolves misunderstanding.

Suggested Exercise:
For the first five minutes of each hour—or whenever feasible—“speak to Him* and make your pledge to let His* function be fulfilled through you. To share His function is to share His joy. His confidence is with you, as you say:

Truth will correct all errors in my mind,
And I will rest in Him Who is my Self.

Then let Him lead you gently to the truth, which will envelop you and give you peace so deep and tranquil that you will return to the familiar world reluctantly.

And yet you will be glad to look again upon this world. For you will bring with you the promise of the changes which the truth that goes with you will carry to the world.” (ACIM, W-107.9:6–10:2)

The Course defines “Him/His/God” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message.

Message

I had a major “aha” moment doing today’s lesson.

A little backstory: I’ve been a student of ACIM, off and on, since the mid-90s. Over the years, I learned key principles that gave me a broader perspective of my role as a spiritual being having a human experience. Going through The Course more thoroughly this time, I’m gaining a deeper understanding of its simplicity and power that I couldn’t grasp before.

Concepts like “God’s will for us—and His function—is happiness,” “Love created me as Itself,” and recently “When I give peace and joy, I receive it” make more sense to me now.

Today’s lesson, though, hit on something that eluded me and changes the direction of my offerings as The Mandala Lady for the better. Up until now, except for the Mandalas of the Day/Week/Month/Year, I’ve been hiding. I’ve been afraid to put myself fully out there—for people to receive the messages these divinely created pieces express.

In today’s practice, we’re to pledge to God* to let His* function be fulfilled through us. That as we receive His joy, we share that joy. Creating my art and doing readings gives me joy. My holding back—because of fears of judgment, criticism, and rejection—is not fulfilling my function nor His.

It’s as if I made hundreds of cookies but held back sharing them because I didn’t think people would like them. What a waste of an opportunity for all of us to experience joy.

My takeaway: stop holding back, keeping what I receive from the Divine only to myself. The truth about fulfilling His function through my art corrects the error in my mind that I have to play it safe. I almost have to say to myself: How dare I play small and hold back. That reminds me of Marianne Williamson’s powerful, ACIM-inspired poem “Our Deepest Fear”:

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us;
It’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we’re liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson

That poem captures the very error Truth is correcting in my mind today.

The Course defines “Him/His/God” as an impersonal, formless, and infinite principle of pure Love. Substitute whatever term that resonates best and allows you to receive the message.

“Today’s lesson … reminds me that suffering, death, and pain are self-made concepts.”
