This week’s MotD theme: A Rose is a Rose
I present my coloring/painting of this week’s Mandala of the Week: A Rose is a Rose (from Sunday’s MotD post). Inspired by the colors of the MotD 236, Bali Rose, I painted this mandala with a base of Pelikan watercolor paints I already had and a top layer of Yasomoto Pearlescent watercolors that I recently bought but had yet to use. They add a tint of color with a cool iridescent shimmer. Being eager to try these new paints, I decided to use them for today’s MotD.
Unfortunately from the straight-on angle, the shimmer is difficult to see. Here’s an angled view that shows it better:

Inspiration for Today
